1. “L’ange protecteur” made by Niki de Saint Phalle
The angel was a gift from the company Securitas for the 150th anniversary of the Swiss Railways. It weighs 1.2 tons and it’s over 11 meters high. The angel was transported by ship in 3 pieces from the United States to the main station of Zürich where she was put back together and took her place 15 meters above the ground. Since then she watches hasty people and questioning looks of tourists every day and in winter time the hustle and bustle of the Christmas market. No matter what happens, she is always there to protect the travellers passing by.
2. Area of Münsterbrücke
It’s one of the best parts of Zürich. The Münsterbrücke connects the eponymous churches Fraumünster and Grossmünster. These two churches rise above the small houses in the city like a king and queen.
There is only one other outstanding tower, the tower of St. Peter’s Church.
From the Münsterbrücke there’s a nice view of the City Hall, of what I took a picture through the decorative iron railing of the bridge.
3. My favorite house in Altstetten
I like it because it has funny windows, therefore it’s a bit different from the rest of the houses.
